The design provisions used in WoodWorks Connections are based on CSA Standard O86-14, Engineered design in wood, icludingUpdate No. 1 (May 2016) and Update No. 2 (June 2017). CSA O86-14 is referenced by Part 4 of NBC 2015.
You also have the option in the Design Settings of using the CSA O86-09 design standard along with the NBC 2010 design code.'
This On-line Help refers only to CSA O86-14 provisions.
Implementation Notes:
All loads and resistances are factored.
Small eccentricities caused by load offsets will not affect the connection capacity.
The shear force used to determine effective shear depth is the gravity load on the connection.
