Design Summary

To allow you to identify walls and hold-downs that fail design without having to scan the full report, the Design Results Report includes a Design Summary just before the results for the first design case (just after the loads are output) It can be accessed directly from the Go To Table menu.

In addition, the program alerts you with a pop-up message after design is run if any shear walls fail.

For each design case:

the Design Summary either indicates that there were no under-capacity walls or hold-downs, or gives a list on each level of the names of the walls that failed and/or a list of the walls that contained under-capacity hold-downs.

The Design Summary also indicates whether seismic design is not valid due to the structure having irregularities not allowed for the Seismic Design Category (ASCE 7 12.3.3).

The summary does not include failures due to seismic material restrictions (12.2.1), story drift limitations (ASCE 7 12.12.1 for seismic and CC 2.2 for wind), or other infringements of design code limitations. It is necessary to refer to warnings under the design results tables for these types of failures.
