Height-to-Width Ratios

Disregard height-to-width limitations

This checkbox allows you to over-ride the program height-to-width limitations to implement proprietary non-wood shear-resisting elements. Normally, the program imposes a maximum height-to-width ratio according to the material and design type using the limits in CSA O86 11.4.1.2 ( see Shear wall Height-to-Width Ratio,) which defines the narrowest full-height-sheathing shear wall segment that can contribute to shear resistance.) When this setting is checked, any full height segment contributes to shear resistance.
