The program issues bold warnings in advance of the Irregularities Table in the following circumstances:
If design fails because the program detects and irregularity and illegal seismic design parameters IEFsSa(0.2), Ta, Rd and/or no. of storeys for that irregularity
There are concerns regarding forces used to design hold-downs and drag struts to comply with NBC 4.1.8.15.(5)
Design Summary
If design fails because the program detects one or more irregularities which is not allowed, a warning appears in the Design Summary directing you to the Irregularities table. .
Screen Warnings
Following shear wall design, one of the following possible explanatory warning messages can be sent to the screen
Post Disaster and Type 1, 3, 4, 5, or 7 (4.1.8.10.(2)(a))
Post Disaster and Type 6 (4.1.8.10.(2)(b))
Period Ta greater than 0.5 and Type 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5 or 6 (4.1.8.7.(c))
Type 4, 5 and greater than four storeys (4.1.8.10.(2)(b))
Type 4, 5 - Requires capacity based hold-down and drag strut design in some circumstances (4.1.8.15.(5))
Type 6, and seismic design not permitted unless design forces factored by RoRd (4.1.8.10.(1))
Type 6 - Seismic design not permitted (4.1.8.10.(1))
Type 7 - Structure is torsionally irregular (4.1.8.10.(10),(11))
These may also be predicated on values of IEFsSa(0.2).
