Fire design from CSA O86 Annex B is applied to to solid beams and columns composed of sawn lumber in timber sizes, glulam, or SCL; and to CLT floor, wall and roof panels. Built-up beams and columns are not included. It is applied in Beam, Column and Concept mode.
The O86 method is a mechanics-based procedure which considers the effect of loads on the fire-reduced section.
