Deflection of Force-Transfer Walls

The procedure for calculating deflection of force transfer walls comes from APA T555, Design for Force Transfer Around Openings (FTAO). It is applied only to force transfer walls with openings; those without openings are treated as segmented walls.

Force-transfer walls are assumed to deflect as a unit, and this deflection is equalized with that of other elements on the shear line.
