Hold-down and Compression Design Table
There is a separate Hold-down and Compression Design table for each of the wind, seismic, rigid and flexible diaphragm cases. This table includes the following design information.
Hold-down Model
The name of the hold-down model used at hold-down location, from the hold-down database
If it is is a compression force, the word Compression appears instead.
Combined Force
The factored components and the combined force are shown. The components shown are
The combined force is the summation of these forces. It can also possibly contain
Special perforated wall "t" forces ( SDPWS 4.3.6.4.2.1 ), only in the cases where openings on a lower level do not line up with openings in a perforated wall on the upper level)
Capacity
The ASD capacity of the hold-down at the location, or the allowable compressive force as described in Design for Compression Forces.
Crit Resp.
The ratio of the combined, factored hold-down force T to hold-down capacity or of the combined, factored compression force C to allowable force Rr’ A value greater than one indicates a failed design.
Design Summary
A list of any failed hold-downs and a list of failed compression force locations for any of the design cases, and the walls they are found in, is shown in the Design Summary page of the Design Results output
