Design Processing Time

The amount of time that the program takes to complete a design run is very dependent on the shear wall rigidity design settings. A combination of those settings that requires requires numeric deflection equalisation routines that can be time consuming

The following table gives estimated times for processing for a complex 3-story structure, using a computer that is close the recommended system requirements for the program, when both rigid and flexible diaphragm design procedures are used.

Rigid vs. Flexible Diaphragm Designs

This amount of time can be cut roughly in two by selecting only one of the rigid and flexible diaphragm analysis procedures in the Structure Input view.

r Calculation

The above times are for the situation where there is just one iteration for the redundancy factor r If it is necessary to perform another with r set to 1.3, then processing times can be almost twice as long. This occurs only rarely, however.
