Top Hangers

Loads are distributed in a triangular pattern under the top angle with higher loads at the face of the girder and no load at the back edge of the angle leg.

Loads are the same along the top edge of the angle. The maximum length of bearing for the top angle is twice the thickness of the purlin.

Side and top angles must be the same thickness.

Angles used have equal legs.

Steel thickness of the bearing plate is calculated assuming a plate supported on three sides.

Nominal place-holding connections will be specified by others.
