Post and beam connections are designed for perpendicular-to-grain and parallel-to-grain lateral connection capacity; effective shear depth; tension capacity (net area); row tear-out and group tear-out capacities, bearing; and fastener withdrawal.
Bolts, shear plates, and rivets in the Canadian version are available for post-and-beam connections. Nails and wood screws are not available.
If no suitable connection is found, the program reports that there is a failed connection and it outputs the results for the strongest connection found.
Connection rows are always aligned with the load.
Small eccentricities caused by load offsets will not affect the connection capacity.
