Group Tear-Out Capacity

For all parallel to grain bolted or shear plate connections, the program considers the group tear-out capacity of the connection, because the capacity of the fastener group may be limited by the group tear-out around group of fasteners.

Modification of the placement of fasteners can be used to increase the group tear-out capacity. Increasing the spacing between rows is one way to increase the capacity.
