The default choice of design codes and standards is the CSA O86-24 Engineering design in wood standard and the 2020 National Building Code of Canada (NBC). The O86-24 is referenced from NBC 2025, but it is permissible to use the more recent O86 with the earlier NBC.
You also have the option of designing with the CSA O86-19 with the 2020 edition of the NBC, which references it, or the 2015 edition. You can also choose to design with CSA O86-14 along with NBC 2015 or 2010 or the CSA O86-09 with NBC 2010.
