Wind uplift components are derived from user-input wind uplift loads on wall lines at the same building level as the hold-down location, added to wind uplift loads and/or wind uplift force components from the levels above. Typically wind uplift loads are applied at the roof level only.
When calculating the wind uplift component, the same load combination factor as for wind shear loads is applied to the unfactored wind uplift loads.
