Dead and wind uplift hold-down or compression force components are derived from user-input loads on wall lines at the same building level as the hold-down location, added to loads and/or force components from the levels above.
Loads over the sheathing segment between the segment ends. A Hold-down setting allows you to specify how much of this load is concentrated at the hold-down location.
The load over top of the adjacent opening is distributed to the opening support at the hold-down or compression force location
The dead or wind uplift force component from hold-down or compression forces on the level above, if they are at the same location, within a 5.5" tolerance, as the force on the level below.
These contributions are added to create the dead load or wind uplift component at a hold-down or compression force location.
