To be Designed for Capacity
If you have selected that a Non-wood/Proprietary wall is To be designed for capacity ,we are assuming that the wall is a proprietary element and you input the capacity of the entire element These values come from data published by manufacturers like Simpson and Mitek for shear resisting elements of a predefined length. The program then divides by the wall length to get the shear wall capacity per unit length for use in design routines that compare it to the unit shear force v on the wall.
Not to be Designed for Capacity
If you have selected not to design these walls, there is no capacity input and the walls are ignored by the design routines.
