The design provisions used in WoodWorks Shearwallsä are based on Chapter 11 of CSA Standard O86-24, Engineered Design in Wood.
Part 4 of the NBC 2020 National Building Code of Canada (NBC) also includes design provisions implemented by Shearwalls, especially for seismic design. Load generation procedures are taken from the NBC and its Structural Commentaries.
The CSA O86-24 is referenced by the NBC 2025, which is not yet implemented in the program, but it is permissible to use the newer O86 with the older NBC. Shearwalls offers the choice in the Design Settings of designing with the CSA O86-19 along with NBC 2020, which references it, or the NBC 2015. You can also choose to design with the CSA O86-14 design standard along with the load generation procedures and seismic provisions from either the 2010 or 2015 version of the of the NBC, or the CSA O86-09 along with NBC 2010.
