The design provisions used in WoodWorks Shearwallsä are based on Chapter 11 of CSA Standard O86-19, Engineered Design in Wood, including Update No.1 (March 2020). Provisions regarding wood panels and nail strength come from Chapters 9 and 12, respectively.
The O86 is referenced by Part 4 of the NBC 2015 National Building Code of Canada (NBC), which also includes design provisions implemented by Shearwalls, especially for seismic design. Load generation procedures are taken from the NBC and its Structural Commentaries.
Shearwalls also allows the choice in the Design Settings of designing with the CSA O86-14 design standard along with the load generation procedures and seismic provisions from either the 2010 or 2015 version of the of the NBC, and CSA O86-09 along with NBC 2010.
