Detailed Seismic Load Generation Output

The program outputs detailed intermediate calculations for seismic base shear V in NBC 2015 4.1.8.11.(2) and for its distribution to building levels using 4.1.8.11.(7). It also shows a list of seismic loads generated on each level. It is accessed via the Seismic Load Generation Details tool bar button.

It is possible to edit this output in the Shearwalls viewer with insertions and deletions, and to copy information with Ctrl-C. Note that if you have selected the 2010 NBC option in the Design settings, slightly different results will appear. For NBC 2015 , the following are output:

A list of data input in the Site Information dialog
A legend defining all symbols used in the equations and expressions
List of all equations and data sources with reference number from NBC
A table for seismic base shear, showing,
- For the entire structure
  - Height h_n
  - Importance factor I_e
  - The value F_a= F(0.2) which is used in I_eF_aS_a(0.2) limit that appears in many NBC provisions, particularly those related to irregularities.
  - Spectral response parameters S(T= 0.2), S(T=2.0) and S(T=5.0)
- For each force direction
  - Force modification factors R_d and R_o
  - Period T_a
  - Site coefficients F(T_a)
  - Design spectral response accelerations S(T_a)
  - Building weight W
  - Higher mode factor M_v
  - Calculated and maximum V, and the one chosen for load generation
  - Overturning reduction factor J at base
