Dead Load Generation

You can generate dead loads representing the self-weight of the walls and/or the load supported by the wall by activating check boxes for each of these in the Load Generation input. The self-weight of the wall is the same self-weight used for seismic building mass generation. The load supported by the wall is entered for each wall or shear line in Wall Input view.

Please note that the supported dead loads thus created are not related to the floor and roof building masses used for seismic load generation. It is your responsibility to determine the vertical distribution of the dead loads and manually enter the load supported by the walls. Refer to Building Masses vs. Dead Loads.
