PRG 320 Table A-1 - Strength Properties

The following design properties, in psi, for the transverse and longitudinal layers of each CLT grade described in CLT Materials are from Table A1 of PRG 320. .

• Bending strength F_b
• Strength in axial compression F_c
• Strength in axial tension F_t
• Rolling shear strength F_s
• Modulus of Elasticity E

Sizer uses the Shear Analogy Model to convert them to the design capacities and (F_bS)_eff, (EI)_eff , and V_s shown in Table A2.

Compressive strength perpendicular to the grain F_cp is also defined as a grade property for use in bearing design and is the F_cp from the lumber used in the longitudinal layers.
