Openings

There is no attempt to automatically adjust the self-weight of walls for openings, as the difference between weights of opening materials and wall assemblies is minimal, and it is a conservative approximation in most cases. There is also no procedure in place for placing openings in the generated floor area segments.

You can model the effect of openings in walls or in the generated diaphragm segments by adding building masses with negative values. In the case of the floor diaphragm this is an area load with the same absolute magnitude as the floor self weight. In the case of walls, it is a line load with a value that you calculate.
