Elevation View

In Elevation view, you are able to see the forces acting on shear walls and shear wall segments, the material specification of the walls, the dimensions of wall segments. It is the only place in the program that all this information appears in one place.

These data correspond to the Design Case being viewed (combination of wind or seismic, rigid or flexible diaphragms, and force direction). This can be changed via the Show menu.

All of the information described below can be toggled on and off using the Show menu or the Options settings to reduce clutter and focus on what you want to see. You can choose to show a single wall or all the walls on the line, or all levels on the structure or a subset of the levels.

Design Forces

Elevation view shows all the design forces on each shear wall as arrows in the drawing. These include

The following forces are also shown

Material Specification and Design Results

When shear lines from just one level are selected, underneath the wall line it shows, for the wall with the critical segment for design:

This information appears only if you are viewing a single level of the structure.

Due to space limitations, these data cannot be displayed for all the walls on the line, so you have to select a single wall to view this information for walls that do not contain the critical shear wall segment. Alternatively refer to the Design Results output to get this information for walls that do not contain the critical shear wall segment.
