The program outputs detailed intermediate calculations for the generation of wind pressures on building surfaces and the resulting wind loads using NBC 2015 4.1.7.3. and either 4.1.7.6 for low buildings or 4.1.7.5 for buildings of all heights. (Note that if you have selected the 2010 NBC option in the Design settings, slightly different results will appear).
It is possible to edit this output in the Shearwalls viewer with insertions and deletions, and to copy information with Ctrl-C. The following data are output.
References to the procedures used for both main wind force resisting and C&C loads
A legend defining all symbols used in the equations and expressions
List of all equations and data sources with reference number from NBC
For each block of the structure
A table showing all main wind force resisting loads generated for each element on that block. For walls, this means the dimensions of that block were used for any building dimensions required in the design equations, such as height-to-width ratio. For roofs, the roof is on that block. The following data are shown
For walls, the building level, for the roof, "roof"
Building face, N, S, E or W.
Windward or leeward load
Low-rise zone
Low rise wind case (windward corner and Case A or B)
Slope of roof on block that was used for generating loads on that element
Height used to determine Exposure factor Ce
Height used to determine topographic factor Ct
Wind pressure generated
Exposure factor Ce
External Gust effect factor Cg and pressure coefficient Cp, or for low-rise loads, combined CgCp
Tributary width of load at its widest point
Start and end of load in the co-ordinates of the building model
Magnitude of the resulting line load on the diaphragm at start and end of load
A table showing all C&C wall loads generated on that block. The following data are shown
Building level
Building face, N, S, E or W
Windward or leeward load
End or interior zone
For low-rise loads, slope of roof over the building face.
Height used to determine Exposure factor Ce
Height used to determine topographic factor Ct
Wind pressure generated
Exposure factor Ce
Topographic factor Ct
External Gust effect factor Cg and pressure coefficient Cp, or for low-rise loads, combined CgCp
