Lateral Support

Lateral support in Sizer refers to elements such as strapping, bridging, blocking, or sheathing that serve to restrain the member against buckling in a transverse direction from the load, or due to an axial load. It is used in the calculations of the beam stability factor KL, the slenderness factor Kc for compressive column design, and in the calculation of combined axial and bending design.
