Installation Procedure

The easiest way to install WoodWorks® is to choose "Run" when downloading the software. The installation has two stages – the first one searches your system for needed Windows components, and if it doesn’t find them, it prompts you to install them. The second stage installs the WoodWorks® software.

The installation program allows you specify the installation folder on your computer. The default installation folder is

C:\Program Files (x86)\Woodworks\Canada\11

Note that this allows previous major versions of WoodWorks® to remain on your computer, as many users like to retain the older version to check designs made with older design codes.

The default start menu folder cannot be changed; it is WoodWorks 11 (Canada).

You can retain your database customizations, settings, standard walls or default loads, etc. from a previous installation via a set of checkboxes that appear during the installation. The checkboxes are by default checked to retain this information from the previous installation; if there is no such installation, it will install these needed components anyway.

To remove the installation of an older version, run the Uninstall utility from the start menu or from the installation folder for that version.

To install one installation of WoodWorks® on a network server to be accessed by client computers, refer to Network Installations.

To install on multiple computers automatically, refer to Deployment on Multiple Computers
