Wall Height

Wall heights are defined in the Structure Input Form and can now be changed at any time by returning to this form. This will modify the height of all walls on a building level and make the appropriate adjustments to the elevation of elements above.

Split-level structures are not possible in Shearwalls.

There are no limits enforced in the program for the total height of a structure. However, NBC limits the application of the low-rise method of determining wind loads to buildings with a mean roof height less than or equal to 20 metres, and Shearwalls will not allow such loads to be generated on taller structures using the all-heights method. Refer to low-rise restrictions and warnings and all heights restrictions and warnings for the program operation when the building height or height-to-width ratios exceed those recommended in the NBC. .
