Creating Columns

To create a column, press the Column button and then click on a gridpoint to create a column. The elevation at the top of the column equals the elevation of the current level. The elevation at the bottom of the column is the elevation of the gridpoint at the level where a supporting member is found. A column at a higher level can be supported by a column or beam on a lower level. If no support is found the column is assumed to run down to the ground (elevation 0).

The design properties of each column depend upon the currently selected Design Group in the Groups field of the Data Bar.
