You input the velocity pressure q given in NBC 4.1.7.3 (4), from values given for cities in Canada from Appendix C, Table C-2, based on a probability of 1-in-50 year return period. You can choose a city closest to your site in the Default Settings, and the velocity pressure for that city will appear in this input.
The velocity pressure is used in the equations to generate external and internal wind pressures on the structure in NBC 4.1.7.3.(1) and (3).
