Deflection Design

The program calculates member deflection on each point of the beam for each load combination using matrix stiffness analysis and the largest of these deflections to allowable deflection limits that you specify. Serviceability limit state load combinations are used.

There are several deflection criteria, such that if a member fails any one of these criteria, it will be passed over in the search for a passing section for design with unknown parameters. .

Deflection is a serviceability requirement, and if it is not required for your member, then you an set a high deflection limit such that the member will never fail under realistic circumstances.
