Load Options

In the Loads View you can set your preferences for items relating to the input, interpretation and analysis of loads, or to apply specific design code provisions. These options operate much like Settings.

Save as Default Options

Press on this button if you want the options that appear on the screen to be saved as defaults for new files. This applies to the following options.

• Self-weight (automatic or manual)
• Line loads applied over design span only
• Beam supports area loads from continuous joists
• Use auto-eccentricity check box,
• Importance category (also in Concept mode toolbar)
• Live and snow loads on exterior
• Sustained live load type (also in Concept mode toolbar)

The following will not be saved:

• Add concentrated live load
• Enter column point load as UDL
• Column load face,
• Combine loads of same type in drawing

Restore Original Options

For those items that can be saved as default for new files, to restore the original default values that came with Sizer, press Reset original options,

Apply to Concept Mode

Pressing this button applies these options to the open Concept mode file, if applicable. When pressed, a message box informs you which options will be applied to Concept mode.

Save to Project File

All of these options except for Combine loads of same type in drawing are saved to the project file you are working on, so that they will be preserved for the next time you open the file. Refer to Save to Project File for more details.
